The Good Enough Summer: A Free Guide to Reducing Summer Holiday Guilt

Whether the summer holidays have already begun for you or are about to, they can bring a complicated mix of feelings.

There may be excitement about more time together and relief from the relentless school routine. But there may also be childcare juggling, disrupted work, more noise, more screens, more pressure and the nagging feeling that you should be enjoying every moment.

Summer holiday guilt can show up around working, holiday clubs, losing your patience, wanting time alone or not creating the magical summer you think your children should have.

But finding the holidays difficult does not mean you are failing.

You may simply be trying to meet impossible expectations with limited time, energy and support.

That is why I have created The Good Enough Summer, a free five-step guide to help you:

  • understand what your guilt is really telling you;

  • let go of unhelpful expectations;

  • decide what “good enough” looks like for your family;

  • protect your capacity;

  • respond differently when guilt shows up.

This is not about creating a perfect or entirely guilt-free summer.

It is about making the weeks ahead feel more manageable, realistic and true to you.
